H4HIM, brings medical help directly to men’s doorsteps by reaching those in remote villages who live 35 to 50 kilometers from the nearest health facility.
Through a mobile medical unit, HIMZ offers on site health screenings, treatment, and education on managing diabetes and hypertension.

Equipped with diagnostic tools like glucometers, blood pressure machines, ultrasound, and medication, the HIM mobile van shortens not only physical distance but also the emotional distance that prevents men from seeking help.

Men receive check ups, treatment for conditions like diabetic foot and ulcers, and therapeutic massages to improve circulation and reduce the risk of amputation. Those requiring further care are safely referred to hospitals, and recovered participants share their testimonies to inspire others to take charge of their health.

Under H4HIM, the HIMZ Mental Health subprogram focuses on breaking the silence surrounding men’s emotional struggles. It promotes open conversations, counseling, and community awareness on mental wellness helping men understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Through group dialogues, storytelling, and outreach sessions, HIMZ Mental Health nurtures resilience, empathy, and emotional healing among men of all ages.

HIMZ’s impact goes beyond men’s health. By encouraging men to seek care, take responsibility, and share household roles, we also lessen the burden on women, who have long been primary caregivers under Zambia’s patriarchal system.
